Community Guidelines & Review Policy

Welcome to the Alley Bookings Community!
Your insights and experiences are valuable to fellow travellers and event-goers across Africa. By sharing reviews, ratings, comments, photos, or other content (collectively, "User Content") on the Alley Bookings platform (www.alleybookings.com and related apps), you help create a trustworthy and informative resource.
To ensure our community remains helpful, respectful, and reliable, we require all users to adhere to these Community Guidelines & Review Policy ("Guidelines"). These Guidelines are part of our overall Terms of Service. By submitting User Content, you agree to abide by these rules.
1. General Principles
- Be Respectful: Treat others as you would like to be treated. Engage constructively, even when sharing criticism.
- Be Honest & Authentic: Share your genuine experiences. Accuracy helps everyone make better decisions.
- Be Helpful: Provide details and context that would be useful to other users considering the same service or provider.
2. Rules for Posting User Content
To maintain the quality and integrity of User Content on Alley Bookings, please ensure your contributions adhere to the following:
- Relevance:
- Content must be directly related to the specific flight, accommodation, event, tour, or Supplier service booked through Alley Bookings that you are reviewing.
- Focus on your personal experience with the service, typically within the last 12 months to ensure relevance.
- General comments about a location, political or social commentary, or questions directed at Alley Bookings support or other users are not suitable for reviews (use appropriate channels for these).
- Authenticity & Originality:
- Content must reflect your own first-hand experience. Hearsay, opinions based on others' experiences, or quoting extensively from other sources is not permitted.
- You must not have a conflict of interest. This includes being a current or former employee, owner, direct competitor, or receiving incentives or compensation specifically for writing the review (beyond standard loyalty program points, if applicable).
- Do not impersonate anyone else or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- No Hate Speech or Discrimination:
- Content that promotes discrimination, denigration, harassment, or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic is strictly prohibited.
- No Harassment, Threats, or Violence:
- Do not post content that harasses, bullies, threatens, or advocates harm towards any individual or group. Content depicting or encouraging violence is forbidden.
- No Private or Personal Information:
- Protect your privacy and the privacy of others. Do not post personally identifiable information such as full names (unless commonly known, like a hotel name), phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses, credit card numbers, loyalty program numbers, booking reference codes, or any other confidential information.
- No Illegal Activities:
- Do not post content that promotes or depicts illegal activities, substances, or behaviour.
- No Commercial Content or Spam:
- User Content areas are not for advertising. Do not post promotional material, logos, links to commercial websites (unless directly relevant and permitted), email addresses for solicitation, affiliate codes, contests, or other forms of spam or solicitation.
- No Intellectual Property Infringement:
- Only post content (including text and photos) that you own the rights to or have explicit permission to use. Do not infringe on copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.
- Appropriate Language:
- Keep language respectful. While honest feedback is encouraged, excessively vulgar, obscene, or profane language is not permitted.
- Helpfulness and Detail:
- Provide enough detail to be useful (e.g., why was the service good or bad?). Vague comments are less helpful. Try to be specific and objective where possible.
3. Content Moderation Process
- Alley Bookings reserves the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, screen, edit, or remove User Content submitted to the Platform.
- We may use automated tools and/or human moderators to review content for compliance with these Guidelines.
- Moderation may occur before or after content is published.
- We reserve the right to determine, in our sole discretion, whether User Content violates these Guidelines.
- The publication of User Content does not signify Alley Bookings' endorsement of the views expressed.
4. Consequences for Violations
Failure to adhere to these Guidelines may result in one or more of the following actions, at Alley Bookings' sole discretion:
- Removal or rejection of the offending User Content.
- Issuing a warning to the user.
- Temporary suspension of the user's ability to post User Content.
- Permanent suspension or termination of the user's Alley Bookings account, as outlined in our Terms of Service.
- Reporting to law enforcement authorities if the content suggests illegal activity or poses a threat to safety.
5. Disclaimer
User Content reflects the opinions and experiences of individual users, not Alley Bookings Ltd. We do not verify the accuracy of all User Content and are not liable for any statements, representations, or omissions made by users. Use your own judgment when evaluating User Content.
6. Reporting Violations
If you see User Content that you believe violates these Guidelines, please help us by reporting it. You can typically find a "Report" or "Flag" option near the content itself, or you can contact our Customer Support team at support@alleybookings.com with details of the content and the reason for your concern.
7. Changes to These Guidelines
Alley Bookings reserves the right to modify these Guidelines at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the revised Guidelines on our Platform. Your continued submission of User Content after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Guidelines.
